  1. The latest revision of the JDK port to linux is 1.0.1-try3. You have
  2. the choice of either static or dynamically linked versions of the 
  3. binaries. If you do not have Motif 2.0 shared libraries on your system, 
  4. do not select the 'shared-motif' archive. In either case, you will need
  5. the common archive, and only one of the static or shared archives.

  7. Be certain to look in the upgrade directory for the versions of various
  8. libararies you will need in order to use Java on your system. In addition, 
  9. you will need X11R6 installed on your system, which can be found in RPM
  10. format at ftp.redhat.com, or tar format at 
  11. tsx-11.mit.edu:/pub/linux/packages/X11.
